The Sound That Sells: Why Should You Harmonize Audio in Campaigns?

Visual consistency in marketing campaigns is widely recognized as a standard practice. However, an equally important yet often overlooked aspect is consistency in audio.

Just like colors or typography, sound is an integral part of a brand’s identity and significantly influences audience perception. It often evokes the strongest emotions and memories, making it a powerful tool for amplifying campaign messages. Notably, 96% of consumers believe that a brand’s audio elements are more memorable than its visual ones*. Music, sound design, and even voiceover choice are tools that can enhance your campaign’s impact and ensure it resonates with your audience.

So, how can you effectively and consistently integrate audio into a multi-channel campaign to maximize its potential?

The first step is selecting an audio track that aligns with your brand’s identity and campaign message. Once this foundation is in place, it’s equally important to unify the sonic layer across multi-channel communication. This doesn’t mean all visual materials for a single campaign should use the same track. Instead, creating arrangements in a similar tone based on the same musical theme is a compelling approach that reinforces the emotional message.

The Benefits of making the Sound in Advertising Campaigns Consistent.

  • Increased Brand Recognition
A recurring musical or sound motif becomes a distinctive element that is easy to remember. When used consistently, it allows for easier identification of both the campaign and the brand among competitors—even without visual cues.

  • Stronger Connection with the Audience
Music evokes emotions and fosters positive associations with the brand. The emotional dimension of sound helps build lasting and strong relationships with your audience.

  • Improved Campaign Effectiveness
Consistent audio enhances the effectiveness of advertising messages, making it easier for audiences to retain key information conveyed in the campaign.

  • Enhanced Brand Credibility
Professionally designed sound demonstrates attention to detail and elevates the consumer experience's quality.

An example of consistent sound usage is our project for the InPost brand. For the Fresh campaign, we created a cohesive musical theme that accompanied various formats, including short bumpers and radio spots. In a spot aimed at individuals aged 30+ living in small towns, we developed a script combining a melodic rhyme with a repeatedly used wordplay on “Freshcie.”
Marketing Goal: Build awareness of the InPost Fresh brand.

Another example is the Wedel Snack campaign, awarded the 2024 Effie Bronze in the Young category. For this project, we soundtracked YouTube ads with original music inspired by club hip-hop bangers like those from Kizo or OIO. We also created the "What the Snack" voice tag, which became the campaign’s signature. Close collaboration with video editors ensured that sound design and music became an integral part of the production.

At TADADAM, we comprehensively sound design visual materials, placing great emphasis on audio consistency in multi-channel communication. We treat sound as an equally vital component of a marketing campaign as visuals, leveraging its full potential to create impactful campaigns.
